Boss

BOSS:Movie DVDRIP

Review:-
First, the good thing. Director Anthony D'souza valiantly does away with the need for having a romantic interest for a 46-year-old Akshay Kumar. Should we rejoice that filmmakers are showing signs of growing up even when they are making a leave-your-brains-behind masala entertainer.
Or is it that D'souza  whose career almost dived after he made Blue (India's first underwater action thriller) thought when you have Akshay Kumar has your protagonist anything goes?

In the beginning of the film you get gyaan about the film based in that part of Haryana where the Kurukshetra war was fought centuries ago between the Pandavas and Kaurawas. You are excited that the film will treat you to some drama of epic proportions. All you get is Akshay Kumar speaking like a Haryanvi Jat with filmy flourish and some
mumbo-jumbo, baap-bete ka jhagda and some bhaichara with Akshay's younger brother Shiv (Shiv Pandit). Okay, okay there is bikini-wearing Aditi Rao Hydari, who is presumably happy that she finally got a film where she has nothing much to do after giving some good performances in her earlier films.
The story is nothing new. A teenager (younger Akshay Kumar) prone to violence and being on the wrong side of the law loses all contact with his honest, upright father (Mithun Chakraborty). They boy is so smart that after Bigg Boss Deny Denzongpa) quenches his thirst with nariyal paani he feels it is Bigg Boss who should thank him since he provided him an opportunity to do a good deed. Impressed Bigg Boss taken him under his wings and the young boy grows up to be a Robinhood-esque ruffian whose paths must 15 years later cross with his father and younger brother Shiv. Add to that a smoldering  (Ronit Roy, the only one who shines and holds his own) who for some unexplainable reason wants to get his sister (Aditi Rao Hydari ) married to a buffoon.
There is enough maar-dhaad which is at least well-executed by the film's action director. There is music which is credited to four people but it is not something to which more lines should be devoted. Every character in this boss is a sample you have seen before. The jokes and gags rely too heavily on smart alec-y puns which are at best puerile. The story, plot be damned, let's just do anything as Akshay Kumar says, "Apne ko toh bas paani nikalne ka."  Does it mean we are just interested in reaching the Rs.100-crore mark? And that's why we made this film?
If you have seen Wanted, Singham, Rowdy Rathore then you have see it all.  Sorry Boss, you have gone for a toss..
